Oware denies Graphic story.

Mr. Fred Oware, former Managing Director of the Securities Discount Company Limited (SDCL), a local investment company has reacted to a story in the 24th edition of the Daily Graphic that stated that the Attorney-General had ordered the trial of the management of the company for fraudulent dealings. According to Mr. Oware the facts presented were incorrect and distorted. In a statement, Mr. Oware stressed that the SDCL never collapsed, as stated by the newspaper, it was rather the Board of Directors who filed for liquidation upon advice from a consultant. Mr. Oware challenged the attorney general to come out with a list of creditors that the company owes or has defaulted in paying, saying that the company does not owe any persons. On the issue of the SDCL not operating with a license from the Central Bank, Mr. Oware said the company was in operation before the passing of the law. He descried the allegations as a plot to discredit him. JOY
