Over 30,000 children in the BAK immunised against polio

Kuntanase (Ash), Dec. 15, GNA 96 A total of 30,028 children aged less than five years were immunised against polio in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma (BAK) district from October 26 to 30 this year. The figure represents 86.5 per cent coverage.

A total of 24,228 children between nine and 59 months were also immunised against measles, Mr Reuben Osei-Antwi, the District Health Information Officer, told the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase. He said children of six to 59 months, totalling 26,686 were also given vitamin 91A’ supplements while 12,818 children below two years were also given treated mosquito bed at no cost. Mr Osei-Antwi commended community leaders and volunteers in the district for their support towards the programme.
