Our leaders are not modest – Kwesi Pratt

Editor in Chief of the Insight newspaper, Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says the strike action has become numerous in the country because the workers have come to the realization that they are being cheated.

He said government keeps telling the workers that there is no money yet the workers see Ministers receiving huge amounts of money.

Kwesi Pratt told Kwami Sefa-Kayi that the workers feel the resources in the country which is supposed to be shared equally by all is being given to only a group of people; hence the various agitations.

“The strike action is really going to affect the country and so let’s find a way of solving the issue. I think the reason for this agitation is that people are aware that the fortunes in the country are not being properly shared. The strike action has become numerous because the workers are aware the only way they can get their demands is when they put down their tools”, he indicated.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr who was reacting to the upsurge of strikes in the country, attributed the flood of agitations to the fact that ‘there is no modesty in the various leaders in all the political parties’.

According to him, when workers are agitating, it will be unnecessary to criticize or insult or even use force to pressurize them to go back to work. He said it will be better to call them and assure them of solving the issues.

“The issue of strike action must not be played on the grounds of politics. Nobody is interested in the verbosity, propaganda and long explanations from government. They should solve the problem” he urged.
