Otumfuo Education Fund donates 1,300 uniforms for school children

Kumawu (Ash), Feb. 28, GNA – The Otumfuo Education Fund has donated 1,300 school uniforms for selected pupils in the Sekyere Afram Plains District.

Nana Brefo Boateng, Executive Secretary of the Fund, presenting the uniforms at Kumawu in the District, said the gesture formed part of the scheme’s goal of supporting the education of poor school children. He said that the intervention also sought to complement government’s efforts at providing needy children with educational materials to give relief to their parents.

Nana Boateng asked head teachers of beneficiary school children to ensure the fair distribution of the uniforms. He pledged that the Fund would continue to support education, particularly in the rural communities.

Nana Boateng said the Fund over the years had offered scholarships and bursaries to brilliant but needy school children through out the country. Mrs Agnes Apene, the District Education Director, commended the Fund for the assistance and urged parents to provide their children with educational needs.
