Otto Addo Begins Madrid Tour to Engage Black Stars Players Ahead of 2026 Assignments

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has begun a working visit to Spain as part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen national team relations and monitor player progress ahead of a busy 2026 calendar.

Addo was in Madrid, where he held discussions with midfielder Kwasi Sibo of Real Oviedo. The visit is part of a broader strategy to maintain close contact with Ghanaian players abroad and keep them integrated into the national team setup.

The coach is expected to continue his tour today with a meeting scheduled with Abdul Mumin, the centre-back currently playing for Rayo Vallecano.

Sources close to the team say Addo’s trip is aimed at assessing player form, fitness and readiness, especially as Ghana prepares for next year’s World Cup and continental commitments.

The Black Stars manager has previously emphasised the importance of maintaining strong communication with players at club level to ensure smooth transitions during international windows.

His European visit is expected to include further stops, with Addo keen on widening Ghana’s talent pool and keeping potential call-ups firmly within reach.
