Osu stool calls for restoration to paramount status

Accra, July 13, GNA – The Osu Divisional Council of the Ga Traditional Council on Wednesday urged the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs to perform the appropriate ceremonies to formally restore the Osu Stool in Accra to paramount status.

In a statement signed in Accra by Mr Solomon Quaynor, Osu Stool Secretary, the Council said this would allow Osu to outdoor the Council with its four divisional stools of Kinkawe, Ashante, Alata and Anorhor.

“The Osu Paramount stool will continue to cooperate with the National House of Chiefs and Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, together with the individual neighbouring paramount stools to further deepen the development of the chieftaincy institution in Ghana,” the statement said.
