One hundred and seven graduates to pass out at GIJ.

One hundred and seven new graduates are to pass out at this year’s Graduation ceremony of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) scheduled for Saturday, 4th April 1998. A weeklong programme of activities in connection with this year’s graduation day of the institute has been released. According to the programme signed by the director, Mr. David Newton, the Sam Arthur Memorial Lectures on the theme “New Communication Technology and National Development: Challenges and Prospects for the twenty-first Century would be held on Tuesday 31st March. It would be under the chairmanship of Mr. Kabral Blay Amihere, President of the West Africa Journalists’ Association. Friday, 3rd April night, has been declared Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Night. Whiles the climax of the celebration is the 37th Graduation Day on Saturday, fourth April, under the theme: Communication Policy and National Development Planning-Agenda for the twenty-first Century.” The Minister of Communications Mr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, will be the Guest Speaker with the Chairman of the National Media Commission, Mr. Tim Acquah-Hayford, presiding.
