One dies, seven others admitted in accident

Tarkwa (W/R), Dec. 1, GNA – One person died on the spot and seven others sustained various degrees on injury in a motor accident, which occurred at Akotom near Tarkwa, on Tuesday.

A Toyota taxicab with registration number WR 277 U and a Mitsubishi saloon private car with registration number GR 6115 H collided at Akotom on Tarkwa -Bogoso road yesterday.

The driver of the private car, Mr. Gabriel Kojo Mensah died on the spot and six other passengers were admitted to the Government Hospital, Tarkwa while one Grace Quaye was referred to Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Takoradi, ASP Jeff Darko of Tarkwa Police told GNA at Tarkwa on Wednesday.

He said the taxi, which was travelling from Bogoso to Tarkwa was overtaking another vehicle when the collision occurred.
