One Dead, Six Injured In Crash on Twifo Tongow–Wassa Hemanso Road

A fatal accident on the road linking Twifo Tongow in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District to Wassa Hemanso in the Wassa East District has claimed the life of a teenager and left six others critically injured.

Eyewitness reports indicate that a KIA Rano truck, loaded with cement blocks and travelling from Ntafraso to Wassa Hemanso, suffered brake failure while descending a steep section near Twifo Tongow. The vehicle reportedly somersaulted, causing the cement blocks to fall on passengers.

Emergency responders from the Twifo Praso Fire Service rushed to the scene and used cutting equipment to free trapped victims from the wreckage. The injured were quickly transported to the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Hospital for treatment.

The Twifo Praso Police have confirmed the incident and say investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
