Oldest grandma dies at 126 at Tepa

Tepa (Ash), Feb. 29, GNA – The mortal remains of Madam Afia Bonyina, a native of Tepa, Ashanti, believed to be the oldest woman in the area was on Saturday buried at the Roman Catholic cemetery at Tepa. Madam Bonyina, alias Aberewa Grace, who died on January 18 this year at the age of 126, was born on August 16 1878.

She left behind an 84-year old daughter and 26 grand children. An ardent Catholic, Madam Bonyina contributed generously to the growth and development of the Catholic Church in the Tepa area. Among the large mourners were Catholic priests, church members and sympathisers.
