Ofosu Ampofo urges C/R people to vote for Mills

Agona Swedru, May 8, GNA – The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ofosu Ampofo, has appealed to the people of the Central Region to vote massively for Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Presidential Candidate of the Party for the 2008 general election.

He said the time had come for the people of the region to give the nod to the flag bearer of NDC to enable him offer him the chance to bring about the needed development to ensure poverty reduction. Mr Ofosu Ampofo was addressing separate rallies at Swedru Saabu Zongo, Mahodwe, Swedru 31st December Preparatory School, Agona Nyakrom and Agona Nsaba.

The National Organizer said the Prof Mills had pragmatic policies and programmes that would help the Central Region to come out from its present predicament. According to him, Prof Mills had good plans to revive all collapsed factories and other companies to create employment to reduce poverty and hunger in the region.

He stressed that NDC had put in place effective strategies that would help the party to win massively 2008 elections, adding that, these could be achieved only through hard work, honesty and dedication on the part of the members of the party, especially polling agents. Mr Allotey Jacobs, Central Regional Propaganda Secretary, said the NPP government had failed Ghanaians especially in the energy sector, saying that Prof Mills had an antidote to the current energy crisis facing the country.

He said now that Ghanaians have experienced the rule of both the NDC and NPP and had one that benefited them it was up to them to decide on the one to vote for in the elections. Mr Jacobs urged the supporters of the NDC in the Central Region to work hard to recapture the parliamentary seats they lost in 2004 elections.

Mr Kwame Musah Donkoh, Agona West Constituency Chairman, assured the National and Central Regional executives of the NDC that the executives and members of the party in the area were working hard to recapture the seat.

He also appealed to the people of the Region to vote for Prof Atta Mills for him to develop the region and the nation.
