Oda Zongo gets 270-million-cedi water closet

Akim Oda, Feb. 21, GNA – A 270-million-cedi 20-seater water closet at Akim Oda Zongo, financed through HIPC fund was inaugurated on Tuesday. Inaugurating it, Mr Frank Kwame Busumtwi, the Birim South District Chief Executive, urged the residence to maintain a healthy environment to prevent the outbreak of communicable diseases. He asked them to organize regular communal labour to keep their surroundings clean, reminding them that, “cleanliness is next to godliness.”

Mr Busumtwi advised the residents to register with the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme for them to have access to quality health care.

Mr Amoabeng Gyekye, Eastern Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), advised them to promote peace among themselves as a pre-requisite for development. The Assembly member for the area, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, was grateful to the Assembly for the project and gave an assurance that it would be well-maintained to help prolong its life span. Alhaji Ismaela Ibrahim, Akim Oda constituency secretary of the NPP, urged the residence to stand solidly behind the government at all times to enable it to provide them with more social amenities.
