Nzema’s are capable of working in oil industry – Chief

Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Paramount Chief of the Nsein Traditional Area, says the indigenes of Nzemaland were capable of participating as well as being employed in the oil and gas industry.

He said it was rather insulting for operators in the industry to shun the people of the area in terms of employment with the excuse that, “Nzemas have no qualifications to fit in the industry”.

Awulae Agyefi Kwame said applications channeled through his paramouncy revealed that graduates from the area were qualified to handle some activities in the sector and people from the area were sometimes had better qualification than those employed from outside the area.

The Paramount Chief was speaking on the sidelines of this year’s Kundum celebration at Nsein in the Nzema East Municipality.

The celebration attracted people from all walks of life to witness the beautiful cultural display and excellence in tradition.

He said, “Nzemas are being taught by the same teachers in the universities and polytechnics across the country and therefore serves better in terms of employment in this new industry”.
