Nyinahin police warned against exposing informants

Nyinahin (Ash), May 24, GNA – DSP Samuel Alordey, Nyinahin District Police Commander, has warned police officers in the district against exposing informants.

He said any officer found to have declared the identity of an informant would be severely dealt with according to the regulations of the Service.

Speaking at a durbar of police personnel at Nyinahin in the Atwima-Nponua District in Ashanti, DSP Alordey also warned the personnel against meddling in land and chieftaincy disputes in the area. He advised the personnel to desist from constituting themselves as debt collectors and urged them to refrain from settling civil cases at the police stations.

DSP Alordey appealed to the personnel to work hand in hand with members of the neighbourhood watch committees to clamp down criminal activities in the district.

He also urged members of the public to always give out information on criminal activities to the police in order to reduce the crime wave in the area.
