Nurse installed as a Chief

Wassa Efuanta (Western Region) – A Nurse at the Tarkwa Government Hospital has been installed chief of Efuanta, near Tamso within the Apinto Division of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, under the stool name Nana Adjoa Amoah.

Known in private life as Madam Rosemary Adjoa Aidoo, she succeeds her brother, Nana Atta Boadi II, who died three years ago. She is the second female to be enstooled chief in the Traditional Area, the first one being Nana Adjoa Kyerewa II, Chief of Daboase in the Mpohor-Wassa District.

Nana Amoah, who was paraded in a palanquin through the town, later swore the Oath of Allegiance to her people and kingmakers. In an address, Nana Amoah said she would work tirelessly to unite the youth and the elderly people in the area and mobilise them to devote their time, energy and resources towards the development of the area. She said environmental sanitation and the education of young girls on the HIV/AIDS pandemic would engage her serious attention.
