Mr Mark Amoako Dompreh, Nsawam Municipal Chief Executive, has called on chiefs in the area to seek peaceful resolution to chieftaincy and land litigations.
He said such litigations are drawing back the progress of the Municipality.
Mr Dompreh made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, after he had expressed his condolences to the people of Chinto after the assassination of their Chief Nana Mankatah and his driver, Richard Asante.
He said land and chieftaincy disputes are preventing investors from coming to the area, and also resulting to the loss of lives, property and useful resources, which could have been used to enhance the living standard of the people.
Mr Ben Atadana, Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police and Chairman of the Justice and Security Sub-committee of Nsawam-Adoagyiri, urged the people of Chinto not to entertain any fear of insecurity in the area.
He said the shooting incident which occurred at the town had led to the arrest of three people and the issue is being handled by the Ghana Police Headquarters in Accra.
Mr Atadana urged the people to stay calm as the police continue their investigations.
