NRSE Congratulates Newly Elected GIA President

The management of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) on Wednesday commended the President Elect of Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), Mr. Kwame Gaza Agbenyendzie, and the new executives.

NRSC statement signed by Mr. Kwame Koduah Atuahene, Head of Communications, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra also commended the immediate past president of GIA, Mr. Ben Acolatse and his team of executive.

The NRSC noted that the GIA executives had over the years worked hard to deepen the relationship between the Ghana Insurers Association and the Commission.

It reiterated a statement made by Mr. Noble John Appiah, Executive Director of the NRSC, that the commission takes notice of the newly elected president’s vision of “a strong, united and proactive association that anticipates and initiates actions rather than react to events.”

“This vision compares with our value system at the commission and we trust that it will drive our relationship for our mutual and national good”.

The NRSC stated that the election of the new executives coincided with the first full year of implementation of the third National Road Safety Strategy (NRSSIII) 2011 – 2020.

The statement said the aim of the NRSSIII was to stabilize and reduce road traffic related deaths and injuries by 2020.

It said the Insurance industry had as much responsibility as all stakeholders within the framework of the NRSSIII in the realization of the national target of saving 10,000 lives and preventing 70,000 injuries by the year 2020.

“It is our expectation that he makes available his strong personal skills and over 25 years experience in insurance business, to help drive the national road safety vision of Ghana, a country with the safest road transportation system in Africa,” the statement said.**
