NPP To Launch Manifesto On Saturday

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is scheduled to launch its manifesto this weekend.

The event which comes off at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday will be climaxed with a mammoth rally at the Mantse Agbona Park, Accra James Town.

NPP bigwigs including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will grace the event.

Outlining the activities lined up for the manifesto launch, the NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie in an interview with Citi News said: “We will highlight areas that will guarantee results so that our children and the youth of this country will also have jobs to do. It is wrong for the youth to be offered such hopelessness as the NDC has done over the last three and a half years.”

He added that “we will make sure Ghanaians are not shortchanged because we all deserve better.”

Mr. Afriyie also said the Mantse Agbona rally will be devoid of insults and the use of intemperate language by the various speakers.

“We eschew politics of insults. We don’t attack personalities. Anytime the NPP spoke about the late President Mills, it was about his leadership skills and the way that he was leading Ghana into the ditch; it had nothing to do with his person. We will not speak ill about anybody but we will tell the truth about this incompetent administration unleashed on the people of this country,” he explained.
