12 people including two women are have been hospitalised in Akuse Government Hospital following various cutlass and gunshot wounds they received in an NPP/NDC clash over the weekend.
Some of those hospitalised told The Chronicle that they have had their houses vandalised by known NPP supporters led by one man popularly known as ‘Accra soldier’. According to them they have been terrorised since the NPP won the elections with taunts that they will be shown ‘where power lies’ now that their party is in power.
The NPP men are linked to supporters of the Tei Muno Mr. Vadis, a local Robin Hood and hero whose house was burnt down by Police and his entire family fled the town following clashes between him and factions of the NDC which had police support.
A 75 year old man, Mr. Stephen Ablorh was said to have been picked up and tossed round police stations including distant Contonments Police Station in Accra after being manhandled.
He was last seen with one Sergeant N.K Kutor, who according to sources, took him with some others and detained them for a day before finally handing them over to the Police Commander at Akuse.
A peugeot taxi cab with registration number GT 8116E covered in blood remains parked at the Akuse Police yard, a grim reminder of the bloody clashes that occurred over the weekend.
