NPP supporters asked not to be boded by activities of CJA

Sekondi, Sept 19, GNA – Papa Owusu Ankomah, the Minister for the Interior, has said demonstrations by the Committee of Joint Action (CJA) for the reduction of fuel prices should not disorganise or discourage members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

”Even though they are still demonstrating for a reduction, the price of crude oil is increasing daily on the world market,” he said.

Papa Ankomah, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, said this at the NPP Sekondi constituency youth elections at Sekondi on Saturday. Papa Ankomah said the NPP members were one family and should use their united front to move the party forward and appealed to the delegates to re-focus their attention and interest on the activities of the party. Mr Joseph B. Aidoo, the Western Regional Minister, said the re-organisation of the party structures was essential for the 2008 general elections.

Mr Peter Mac-Manu, Western Regional Chairman of the party, advised members to abide by the rules of the party and ensure that they explained the concepts and ideals of the NPP to others. “Without unity, our aim at internal democracy will be stifled.”
