NPP Polling Station Chairman shot dead

A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Polling Station Chairman for Apotuogya DA Primary in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers.

Baah Tweneboah popularly known as Agya Baah was shot in his house around 9pm after returning from work.

Agya Baah who worked as an Agricultural Extension Officer in Kumasi is in his early 40s.

An eyewitness Bright Sefah Boakye Yiadom told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa that Agya Baah returned from work last night and the moment he entered his house, three men suspected to be armed robbers followed.

Gunshots were heard a few minutes later and the NPP chairman was discovered dead.

The wife’s account

The wife of the deceased, Esther Adomako narrating the incident to Onua News explained that last night when his husband returned from work, the children rushed to open the gate for him.

She said the unknown assailants who had been trailing him demanded he surrender his money.

Madam Adomako recounted that the men then started brutalizing him, where she received heavy slaps and some of the children were injured in the process.

Esther Adomako who had been married to Baah Tweneboah for 14-years recalled the husband shouted his end has come; the next she saw was his husband was in a pool of blood.

She said the children who got injured were taken to hospital for treatment.

Madam Esther Adomako and Mr. Baah Tweneboah have six children: three males and three females.

She said the robbers took away their phones and laptops, she however suspects foul play in the attack.

The District Police command has since conveyed the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
