NPP meets over conference date extension request

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party is meeting to discuss a petition seeking an extension of its October 18 presidential primary.

Alan Kyeremanten and Francis Addai Nimoh jointly petitioned the leadership of the party to reschedule the conference date to allow them enough time to campaign as flagbearer hopefuls.

The two, have received several appeals to willingly opt out of the race and rally behind Akufo-Addo as NPP’s candidate for the 2016 presidential elections.

Starrfmonline.com sources at the party’s headquarters say the petition is likely to be rejected by the leadership.
