NPP is deceiving unsuspecting voters with false promises – Solomon Nkansah

Communications Director of the ruling NDC is warning electorates to be vigilant about deceptive campaign being waged by the opposition NPP.

Solomon Nkansah told 3FM’s Winston Amoah that once the NPP gets into power, it will give many excuses for its inability to fulfill any of their promises.

“All the things the NPP has stated in its manifesto is nothing they intend to implement, and they are so heartless when it comes to showing remorse,” Mr. Nkansah claimed. “In fact in 2000 Nana Addo was very vociferous on the NPP campaign promising the youth many things; he led the call for the withdrawal of the VAT.

In fact, he led the demonstration that saw the recall of the vat with the NDC government tabling it after two years. “They still maintained when they get into power they will repeal VAT but they arrogantly increased it. “Today they’re telling Ghanaians that the NPP will reduce electricity tariffs “When they promised that 62 pesewas of fuel was too costly and that given the opportunity, they would reduce it, they rather sent it to GHc5.30 without any explanation. “When there was a drastic reduction in the world price of crude oil, they told us they were enjoying windfall and they’ll use it to offset a lot of cost. “They can simply not be trusted,” he added.

The communications director also said he is worried for the youth in particular because they did not see the mess the NPP created. “I sometimes get worried for the youth because the NPP is ranting and raving just to wrest power from the NDC. “They are only making noise to distract people’s attention from the truth that the current mess being remedied by President Mahama was caused by the NPP. “They’re doing all these things because they just want power.

That is because many youth today between 18 and 40years do not know the real issues so they are making noise to distort the facts because a lot of time has passed. “But a party that could not lay a sound foundation for John Mahama to continue is the same that is promising Rome.

They just want power for its sake not to serve the interest of the ordinary Ghanaian.” He insists Nana Akufo-Addo and the opposition NPP are only seeking power for their selfish interest, and should not be trusted.
