NPP good at collapsing state companies – NDC

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s campaign message of creating jobs for the youth has been rubbished by a communications team member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Mawuli Nanegbe who says the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party cannot create jobs or solve the unemployment he claims exists in Ghana because he (Nana) created the problem.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during one of his campaign said his message for this year’s elections was on job creation, hinged on the industrialization of the economy and the modernization of agriculture.

According to him, since 2008, he has remained consistent with the message of industrializing Ghana’s economy, whereas President Mahama’s message-less campaign is evident in the refrain “e dey bee keke”.

But Mr. Nanegbe said, Nana Addo as a Minister of State and Member of Parliament (MP), in the erstwhile Kufour administration was not regular in Parliament but became regular during the period of negotiations and sale of the Ghana Telecom (GT), now Vodafone Ghana which caused over 3000 job losses in the country.

Koku Nanegbe speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM posited that under the NDC the former President Rawlings handed Ghana Airways to the opposition NPP which the latter oversaw it collapse, sold the properties to themselves resulting in unemployment.

He stressed, “same is the Ayensu Starch Factory, Pwalugu tomatoes Factory among others,” he added, “and that is the track record of the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. They are only good state companies and creating job losses. Unlike President Mahama who is ensuring the establishments of new companies as well as reviving dead ones; including the starch, sugar and shoe factories.”
