NPP election committee formed

Accra, 14 October 1998 The New Patriotic Party- NPP – has set up a seven member Elections Committee to organise the selection of the Party’s flagbearer for the year 2000 Elections. The elections for the party’s Presidential candidate are to be held on Saturday 24th October 1998 during the Party’s Congress in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo regional capital, some 400 kilomenters north of Accra.

The Committee is chaired by Haruna Esseku and has as members – C.K Tedam, Member of the Council of Elders, Hon Yaw Osafo Maafo, MP for Akim Oda and Minority Spokesman for Trade & Industry and the MP for Sunyani West, Hon. K.A. Adjei-Darko. The others members are Miss Cecilia Dapaah, Public Relations Consultant, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and K. Antwi-Agyei of the NPP Head Office who is a Member-Secretary.

The Commitee will be in charge of receiving and checking accreditation of delegates to the Conference. It will also liaise with aspirants on procedural matters and be responsible for the drawing up and enforcement of rules for the conference. GRi
