NPP Chairman Jake is No. 1

National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey will occupy the first place on the ballot sheets for aspirants of the chairmanship position of the party.

This was made known after a secret balloting was conducted at NPP’s Headquarters on Monday, March 17.

Balloting for Chairman-aspirants was suspended due to investigations into the candidature of Paul Afoko, who was cleared last Wednesday to contest the elections.

The incumbent chairman will be trailed on the ballot sheets by Stephen Ntim, Paul Afoko and Fred Oware in that order.

“From now on, we have completed in full balloting for all positions that are available for our national executive elections for the year 2014,” said Perry Okudzeto, the Acting Communications Director of NPP.

Only Paul Afoko showed up at Monday’s balloting as the other three had representatives to do the balloting for them.

Balloting for the other executive positions was conducted on Monday, February 24, 2014.

The national executive elections are scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 12 in Tamale during the National Delegates’ Conference of the party.
