NPP apologises on alleged statement by a Parliamentarian

Accra, June 1, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday said it has taken notice of proceedings on the floor of Parliament regarding a statement allegedly made by Mr Amankwah Asiamah, Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa.

The NPP said the statement was made on an Accra based radio station last Monday. A statement signed by Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Member of Parliament for Suame and Minority Leader in Accra said 93The party believes that the words and meaning of the MP’s statement has been twisted.”

“An investigation by the Privileges Committee of Parliament or any other body would establish this fact. In the meantime if the statement by the MP has given offence to MP’s or any other person, the party unreservedly apologises,” the statement added.
