Northern regional house of chiefs gets new president

The overlord of the Gonja Traditional Kingdom, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I was sworn in as the President of the Northern regional House of Chiefs at a full house meeting in Tamale.

Yagbonwura succeeds the paramount chief of the Mamprusi Traditional area, Naa Mahamai Sheriga Bohagu after his four-year tenure of office.

Naa Mahama after handing over the presidency of overlord of Gonjaland was also sworn into office as vice president and president respectively unopposed.

Our regional correspondent, Prince Kwame Tamakloe said the newly elected President of the House of Chiefs went unopposed.
