Intelligence reports trampled upon by The Free Press indicate that most of the designated District Chief Executives (DCE’s) are in hot waters as assembly members are demanding monies from them before endorsing them.
The reports further indicated that in some of the districts (name withheld) for obvious reasons each of the assembly members is demanding an amount if between one million and two million cedis before voting for the DCE’s. These according to the reports has become a hydrated problem for the DCE’s designate and are fighting to bring their heads above water.
The reports continued that in some of the districts, the assembly members have vowed to vote against the designated DCE’s if they were not given any such moneys to endorse them. In other areas or districts, the assemblies have embarked on decisions to vote against any DCE nominated by the President until their demands in the district are met by the government.
Some of the assembly members opined that, they do not understand why the government should retain some of the DCE’s since their weaknesses have been exposed. The reports however, intimated that, since the nomination of the DCE’s the assembly members nationwide have been having series of meetings in their districts all in attempt to ensure that their conditions are met before getting their DCE’s.
