No pay for shoddy works by contractors

Gambibgo (UE), Nov. 17, GNA – Mr Anthony Aziabah, Bolgatanga Municipal Director of Education has said that contactors who carried out shoddy works would not be recommended for payment. He condemned some works executed by some contractors awarded contracts by the Ghana Education Service when he visited school projects at Gambibgo in Bolgatanga municipality. He said some contractors were using “Wawa” boards to make windows, which he said would not last. He said he would ensure that the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly did not recommend such contractors for payment. Mr Aziaba urged heads of schools to take interest in the projects in their schools and report sub-standard works to the appropriate bodies for redress.
