Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has called on Hearts of Oak supporters to remain calm and continue backing goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, following his recent errors in goal.
Speaking in an interview on 3Sports, Asante Twum stressed that mistakes are part of the game and that even the best goalkeepers in world football experience difficult moments.
“I think Benjamin will learn from his mistakes. I don’t think it is time for Hearts fans to panic. These things happen,” he said. “All the top goalkeepers and players in the world make mistakes, what matters is how you respond.”
His comments come in the wake of criticism aimed at Asare after his recent performances, with sections of the club’s fan base expressing concern ahead of the upcoming Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.
Asante Twum urged fans to show patience and support for the 28-year-old shot-stopper, emphasizing that confidence and backing from supporters are crucial for a player’s recovery and improvement.
Hearts of Oak will look to bounce back strongly as they prepare for their next league encounter, with Asare expected to remain between the posts despite the scrutiny.
