No motor accident in the Upper West Region during the New Year

Wa, Jan 03, GNA – For the first time in almost a decade the Upper West Regional offices of Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) did not record any motor accident on January 1.

The police attributed this to intensive education programmes by the regional police command, the Regional Road Safety Committee and the radio stations in the region and others showered praises on the transport companies and their drivers.

The police told the GNA that they would continue with the education programmes to sustain the interest of drivers and vehicle owners to be very careful on the roads.

At the Wa Regional Hospital two babies were delivered on New Year’s Day compared to a daily average of 12 children.
