No ECOWAS Job For Kofi Asante

Former Amenfi West MP, Abraham Kofi Asante has not taken up any appointment at the ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja. The Concord newspaper quotes officials at the ECOWAS office in Abuja as saying that there is no job on offer for the resigned MP.

”Even the post under discussion does not exist” an official said. The resigned MP was said to be heading for a job at the ECOWAS office as an Energy Expert after he tended in his resignation as MP last week.

Some members of the NDC alleged that the resignation of the MP formed part of a grand design by the Kufuor administration to offer members of the NDC lucrative jobs in order to poach them.

But the government in a statement denied the allegation that it influenced the NDC MP to desert his post by offering him a lucrative job at the ECOWAS Secretariat.
