Nkrumaist Parties in Brong Ahafo Unite

Sunyani, Oct 09, GNA – The Brong-Ahafo Regional offices of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Convention People’s Party (CPP) have merged to increase their numerical strength to enhance their political fortunes in the 2012 general election.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Nana Kyeremeh and Mr. B.K. Ameyaw, Regional Chairmen of the CPP and PNC respectively, and made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Friday. “The general body of Nkrumaists belonging to separate political parties account for ineffective resource mobilization, as a house divided cannot stand but fall”, it said.

The two parties expressed concern about low membership and weak organization of their activities as a result of inadequate financial and logistical resources, which had necessitated the need “to join forces to enable us to achieve victory in the year 2012”. “The Brong-Ahafo Regional executives of the PNC and CPP are taking this initiative in a bid to prompt all Nkrumaists to the realities on the ground, that not until we come together as one big family victory is not in sight”, the statement stressed.

It noted that Nkrumaists formed the largest political front in the country and since “we have Danquah-Busia tradition, why can’t we have Nkrumah-Limann tradition”. The statement noted that “not until petty differences and squabbles are buried and the leadership re-organised and streamlined towards a common goal and objective, victory in the next general election would be near impossible”. The two parties noted that “the time was ripe to have another go at unity talks basically between the two Nkrumaist parties and at another dimension, inviting all true and like-minded Nkrumaists across the political spectrum to come together as one”.
