Nkrankwanta (B/A), July 4, GNA – The Nkrankwanta Area Council in the Dormaa District of Brong Ahafo has warned traders who acquired market stalls at the main market but failed to utilise them would soon lose them.
Council Secretary James Yeboah Asiamah, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Nkrankwanta that “the un-cooperative attitude of the traders does not only deprive the Council of the needed revenue but also denies prospective traders the opportunity to benefit from the facility”.
He said more than 20 beneficiaries of the stalls had refused use them since they acquired them and had thus failed to pay any revenue to the Council.
“If all attempts to get the traders to comply with the Assembly’s bylaws on the acquisition of market stalls fail, the Council will have no option than to apply the rules and regulations”, he said. Members of the Area Council also toured on-going road works in Nkrankwanta, which according to the contractor, Nana Kortey, was 90 percent ready for tarring to begin.
They commended the contractor for executing the project according to specification and appealed to him to speed up the work.
