Nkoranza CHRAJ receives 49 complaints in three months

Nkoranza (B/A), Oct. 26, GNA – The Nkoranza district office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) received 49 complaints from July to the close of September this year.

Mrs. Joyce Boahen, District Director of the Commission, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that the complaints involved child and spouse maintenance, paternity inheritance and marriage causes. Others included tenancy breaches and unlawful destruction of property.

Mrs. Boahen said 18 of the complaints had been resolved with 26 pending. The others were settled, transferred or withdrawn. Some were also dismissed, she added.

She said during the period under review, the Commission held public educational programmes on child maintenance and parental responsibility, as well as, children’s rights and responsibilities.

The communities were also educated on the consequences of rape and defilement, she added.
