Nkawie youth appeal to police to check over-speeding

The Youth and concerned citizens of Nkwaie have appealed to the police to check over-speeding of vehicles on the Nkawie-Kumasi-Bibiani road to avoid accidents.

In a statement signed by Mr Collins Adu, a member of the Concerned Citizens Association on Friday said between January and February this year, about seven lives have been lost as a result of either over-speeding or careless driving on the part of some motorists.

Mr Adu said there should be a solution to save lives on the road.

He asked the District Assembly to make by-laws prohibiting traders to sell their wares along the road during market days.

He advised drivers plying on the highways to reduce speed to avoid accidents.
