Nine retired headteachers honoured in BAK District

Esreso (Ash), Jan. 11, GNA – The Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Association of Headteachers has honoured nine headteachers who retired from active service last year.

Each of them was presented with one million cedis cash and a parcel at a reception the Association organised for them at Esreso. Addressing the retired headteachers, Mrs Dora Doris Amaniampong, District Director of Education, cautioned them against spending their retirement benefit lavishly, especially on lotto and other activities that could send their money into the drain.

She urged them to invest the money prudently in ventures that could yield meaningful results for them and their families.

Mrs Amaniampong commended them for their service, which had helped improved on education in the District.

Mr Owusu Sakyi, District Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), urged the retired teachers to always share their experiences with those in active service to help raise the quality of teaching. 11 Jan. 07
