Nigerian remanded over slab of cocaine

Accra Jan. 23, GNA – A 31-year-old Nigerian, who was arrested with a slab of narcotic drugs suspected to be cocaine on the Accra -Tema Motorway, on Tuesday has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court. Uba Emeka Sebastian is being held for possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority.

The court did not take his plea and remanded him to reappear on February 6.

Prosecuting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Eric Amoako said on January 16, 2007, the Greater Accra Regional Police acting on a tip-off arrested Sebastian with the slab suspected to be cocaine.

He said the case was under investigation and the Police was forwarding the substance to the Ghana Standard Board for examination.
