Nigeria commends Ghana on the conduct of peaceful, free and fair polls

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA- Nigeria has commended Ghana for conducting the December 7 elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner, whilst urging Ghanaians to remain civil till the process is completed as the polls go into second round. “We observed with pride and utmost happiness the successful conduct of Sunday’s election here in Ghana. But we urge all Ghanaians to sustain the high level of civility until the processes are completed”, a statement issued by the Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro said on Wednesday.

“The commendation for this laudable conduct goes to all Ghanaians and the institutions responsible for the conduct of the elections, and more importantly the government for creating the enabling environment to achieve this success. The statement commended Ghana’s civil societies for showing the importance of being responsible and diligent to issues affecting their communities, and congratulated all the political parties for their exemplary conduct. “This feat to us is a victory for Ghanaians” the statement said.
