NGO calls on Adeiso Assembly to assist in tree planting

Dr. Theophilus Kwesi Anderson, President of Friends of the Earth, Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has appealed to the Adeiso District Assembly, to support sanitation and forestation programs, to protect the environment.

He called for the intensification of tree planting along Rivers and other water bodies in the Adeiso area, to prevent them from drying up.

Mr. Anderson, who inaugurated a 30-member branch of the NGO at Adeiso, said the organization had supported environmental protection programs, including tree planting.

Mr. Appiah Ankama, local coordinator of the NGO, appealed to the Adeiso branch of the organization to work with the assembly and other groups, to promote sanitation and protect the environment from degradation.

Nana Addo Yeboah, Mankrodo of Adeiso and Sanaahene, Obuobi Yaw, who represented Osabarima Asare Oduro I, Chief of Adeiso, commended the NGO and pledged that the people would support its programs at all times. **
