NFED Facilitators Receive Incentives

Kpando, May 18, GNA – A total of 81 facilitators of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) in the Kpando District on Tuesday, received incentives packages totalling about 80 million cedis. The items were, 39 ghetto blasters, 27 sewing machines and 15 mountain bikes after undertaking teaching programmes for 21 months. Mr Pius Adanuti, Kpando District Chief Executive, presenting the items commended the recipients for their efforts in the face of declining communal spirit and volunteerism. He urged them to continue to influence the society positively, propagate government policies and to make the adult learners functionally active.

Miss Dziedzom Agudetse, Kpando District Coordinator of NFED, said the exercise was aimed at empowering adult learners economically and to narrow the illiteracy gap in the adult population, who through no fault of theirs could not get formal education. She praised the facilitators for their sense of duty and congratulated the government for providing the incentives and a programme to reduce poverty and illiteracy.

Mr Arnold Kwashie, Leader of the Facilitators thanked the government for the gesture and pledged that they would not rest on their ores until their objectives were achieved.
