Next IGP: P.K. Acheampong?

Credible indications are that the current Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), in charge of Operations, Mr. Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong will be appointed the next Inspector General Of Police (IGP) after Nana Owusu Nsiah.

Nana Owusu Nsiah the current IGP retires next month.

As a result there have been intense lobbying, but analyst believe Mr. Acheampong will be given the nod based on seniority.

The lobbying has been so intense that it is also believed that the other two who were also being considered are likely to be retired from the Police Service to ensure a smooth running of the service.

They are Mrs. Elizabeth Mills-Robertson DIGP in charge of administration and the Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Dr K. K. K. Manfo
