Essikadu(W/R), Feb.14, GNA – Right Reverend John Kwamina Otoo was enthroned as Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Sekondi at the weekend. Very Reverend Kingsley Addai, Acting Dean of Saint Mark the Evangelist Cathedral, enthroned Bishop Otoo on the mandate of Most Reverend Dr Justice Offei Akrofi, Archbishop and Primate of the Province of West Africa Anglican Communion.

Rt. Rev. Otoo was consecrated as the third Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese by Archbishop Offei Akrofi assisted by eight Bishops of the Province at the Saint Stephens Anglican Church, Tema on January 22 this year.

Speaking after his enthronement, Bishop Otoo said the Church belonged to the members therefore; they must pool their resources to sustain the Church.

He said the Church should not depend solely on offerings but venture into income-generating activities to earn income for development. Bishop Otoo said the Church should be concerned about social issues and express its views on them as well as political issues that were not outside the mandate of the Church.

Bishop Otoo is a retired Colonel and former Director of Religious Affairs and Chaplain General of the Ghana Armed Forces.
