Nduom calls for peace and unity

Accra, Jan. 1, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Minister of Energy and Conventions People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament (MP) Elect for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA), on New Year’s Eve called for peace and unity in the constituency to ensure progress in the coming year. In a New Year message to the constituents he thanked them for joining him to launch an all-inclusive campaign on the ticket of the CPP, which saw him elected as an MP of the area.

Dr Nduom said: “I have worked hard to be a team player in the NPP Government for the benefit of Ghana. Many have not been able to tell the difference between myself and other members of Government in terms of political party affiliation. I have put personal interests and ambitions aside and served my country for four years.”

He said those who came from the area and had served in different political regimes before him like Mr Tachie-Menson, Colonel Bernasko, Mr Ato Austin and Dr Ato Quarshie, did what they could for the Constituency and it was his turn “to make contributions towards the development of the KEEA District in special ways.”

He said he could “confidently say that KEEA has received its fair share of development projects since 2001”

Thanking the people for voting for him and President Kufuor in Election 2004, Dr Nduom asked all his supporters “to be careful in what they do”.

He said he was in politics “to make something positive happen for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem and for Ghana.”

Dr Nduom said: “We need peace and goodwill for development to happen and for our people to become prosperous”, adding “while we celebrate victory, let us do everything to bring honour, goodwill and positive results to our District.”
