NDC youth mounts pressure on Mahama

The Coalition of Northern NDC Youth has given President John Mahama one week ultimatum to nominate a regional minister for the area.

The northern region still remains the only region without a minister triggering agitations from several pressure groups in the area.

The various interest groups are therefore mounting pressure on President Mahama to be quick about the appointment.

Chairman for the Coalition of Northern NDC Youth, Abdulai Saani, in an interview stated “we are giving the President one week ultimatum to either re-nominate our caretaker minister or nominate somebody to take over from him.”

He stressed, “We are shocked and disappointed because all the regions now have ministers so we expect that by now President Mahama will have nominated somebody for us.”

Abdulai Saani warns that the group will have no option than to hit the streets of Tamale if President Mahama fails to meet their demand.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Information, Mahama Ayariga, has called for calm in the area.

He said President Mahama will address their concerns at the appropriate time.
