NDC youth endorse Mills

Winneba, April 17, GNA – The Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has endorsed the Vice President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills as the party’s flagbearer in this year’s general election.

A resolution adopted at the end of its fifth biennial delegates’ congress at Winneba pledged that the youth of the party would do everything possible to ensure total victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

It commended both President J.J. Rawlings and Prof. Atta Mills for the great work they have done for the nation and assured them of their continued support and co-operation at all times.

They praised the development initiatives of the government especially in the areas of health, education, roads, agriculture, utility services and communications and said there should be continuity of leadership to ensure total attainment of the objectives of Vision 2020.

While congratulating government for paying attention to issues of women and children, the resolution appealed for more female involvement in administration to enable them to contribute adequately to nation building.

The youth commended the bold efforts of the government to address the country’s economic problems and called for the support and co-operation of all Ghanaians.

The Congress reminded the people of the current drew global economic disorder, which has badly affected national programmes and asked them to bear with the government.

It said the government would not let the nation down, adding that the NDC is poised to do great things for the nation and asked the electorate to once more offer their mandated to the party for continued good governance.

The youth wing appealed to senior members of the NDC to avoid ethnicity and religious consideration in the choice of a running mate for Prof. Mills. It stressed that the running mate should posses excellent moral qualities and experience to unite the people for the common good of the nation.
