NDC will welcome Konadu support – Stan Dogbe

Aide to the President, Stan Dogbe has indicated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will welcome the support of former first, lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.

The former first lady who is also the Flagbearer of National Democratic Party (NDP) on Monday announced that her party will be declaring their support for one particular presidential candidate on Tuesday December 4, 2012.

She however has been a ardent critic of the ruling party because in her opinion the party has lost its moral high ground.

However, in an interview with the Citi News, Stan Dogbe said the NDC was ready to welcome Nana Konadu if she chose to follow in the footsteps of her husband, former President Rawlings.

“If she [Konadu] feels that either of the candidates that are contesting is the one that she wants to support, she should declare so and we will see how her declaration will affect or benefit that candidate,” he stated.

“Politics is about numbers and every swinging vote counts. If Nana Konadu decides that having seen the fact that John Mahama is the candidate or leader that Ghana needs today, and follow in the footsteps of our founder who has indicated that John Mahama is the winnable candidate, she is welcome to do so.”
