NDC thanks Anti-ROPAB demonstrators

Accra, Feb. 17, GNA – The National Executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday commended all participants of the recent mass demonstration in protest against the passage of the Representation of the People Amendment Bill (ROPAB).

“The National Executive of the NDC wishes to express its appreciation and thanks to all Ghanaians from all walks of life, who participated in the Anti-ROPAB demonstration on February 14, 2006,” a statement signed by Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Deputy General-Secretary, Operations of the NDC, said.

The NDC expressed optimism that it could count on the unflinching support, loyalty and commitment of the masses in the coming days as it pressed on with the struggle to ensure that the “obnoxious ROPAB” was withdrawn by the Executive, the statement said.
