The Supreme Court will on June 12 hear the case in which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is accusing the government of contempt of court for removing the military security personnel detailed to guard former President Jerry John Rawlings.
A suit filed by Mr Kwaku Baah, Counsel for the NDC, said on April 20, it filed a writ, which sought a declaration that the former President was entitled to facilities available to him as President.
The suit said such facilities “including his military security shall not be varied to his disadvantage during his lifetime.”
It said while the earlier suit was pending before the court, the government disregarded it and with flagrant contempt went ahead on May 23 to remove the former President’s military security guards.
